The Community

An extensive programme of public consultation has taken place throughout the planning process for Wichelstowe and Swindon Borough Council is committed to an ongoing consultation and engagement programme as the site develops.

For example:

• The Community Forum meets regularly to discuss works on site and how to ensure the development will have as little impact as possible on those living in the surrounding area.
• Newsletters will be distributed at key times within the programme to keep local people up to date with what is happening currently and in the immediate future, as well as providing a long-term overview.
• Letters will be sent to local people to inform them of new work that might start between newsletters
• Regular website updates
• Residents' events to provide new residents with information about the development
• A freephone number (0800 783 3082) to provide answers to queries during office hours
