Landscape Plan Explanation

South of the M4

The Wichelstowe off-site landscape and nature conservation proposals (2010) set out the opportunities for significant landscape change and improvements to biodiversity and accessibility across an area immediately to the south of the M4 at Wichelstowe.

The majority of the land covered by the plan is owned by Swindon Borough Council and farmed under tenancy arrangements. The proposals recognise that tenant farmers will play a key role in delivering these improvements and provide a means for sustained, long term management of the landscape.
